Food for Thought:
Eating Well on a Budget is a bilingual, multimedia program designed in partnership with Sesame Street to help support families who have children between the ages of 2 and 8 and are coping with uncertain or limited access to affordable and nutritious food.
CO-PAYMENTS AND CO-INSURANCE - The amounts of money you pay directly to the provider for the service you receive. Medicaid beneficiaries are required to pay a co-payment and co-insurance for certain services, unless they are exempted.
MEDICAID - A state health insurance program for people with low income who meet certain eligibility requirements. Programs can vary from state to state.
MEDICARE - A federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, disabled persons or those with end-stage kidney disease. Medicare eligibility is not based on income, and basic coverage is the same in each state.
MEDS-AD - Medicaid for the aged or disabled.
SSI - Supplemental Security Income.
