Medicaid is a program for people with low income who meet certain eligibility requirements and programs can vary from state-to-state. Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people who are age 65 or older, disabled persons, or those with end-stage kidney disease. Medicare eligibility is not based on income, and basic coverage is the same in each state.
UnitedHealthcare Community Plan provides a state-specific health plan for certain Medicaid recipients who live in the state of Arizona called UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. UnitedHealthcare Community Plan is a long-term-care health plan for physically disabled adults and children.
In order to be a member of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, you must be enrolled in the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), which is part of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).
