We are focused on making health care simpler for our nearly 240,000 Medicaid members in the State and this attention to the member experience has helped us achieve positive member satisfaction ratings in MSCAN and MSCHIP.
We work face-to-face with members to identify and address underlying behavioral and social issues that may contribute to medical needs, and to ensure the member receives the right care at the right time with the right professional.
• The Community Plan of Mississippi’s Farm to Fork Initiative provides free farm-fresh vegetables to members. With distribution sites across the state, members and their families can reap the benefits of healthy eating and establish healthy habits for life.
• The UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Mississippi plan has donated more than 100 computers to organizations around the state to assist students with technology and research skills and adults with accessing information on health care, employment, education and social services.
• Children from low-income and low-education households are three-times more likely to suffer from obesity, which is a leading risk factor for diabetes, heart disease and many cancers. In response, the Community Plan of Mississippi launched Kicks for Kids in Mississippi, an incentive initiative that offers kids ages 6-16 Nike gift cards for completing their wellness exams by the end of the year.
• UnitedHealthcare delivered 150 NERF ENERGY Game Kits to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi.
The UnitedHealthcare provider community is robust and continues to grow with no foreseeable risk to decreased access. The UnitedHealthcare MS Medicaid network has more than 10,000 providers and includes primary care and virtually all specialists. Additionally, UnitedHealthcare processes over 99% of clean claims within 30 days. In the same provider satisfaction survey referenced above, providers also consistently rate UnitedHealthcare favorably, as measured by above mean scores in timeliness and accuracy of claims processing.
