UnitedHealthcare RIte Care
Who can join?
UnitedHealthcare offers coverage to beneficiaries of Rhode Island's RIte Care program, including Children With Special Health Care Needs. Children with Special Health Care Needs includes: children who are eligible for Rhode Island Medical Assistance through Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Katie Beckett or Adoption Subsidy.) Eligibility for enrollment in RIte Care is determined by the Department of Human Services (DHS).
Eligibility is based on income and family size.
- Pregnant women (family's income less than 250 percent of the Federal Poverty Level- FPL)
- Children up to age 19 (family's income less than 250 percent of the FPL)
- Parents with children under age 18 (family's income less than 175 percent of the FPL)
Joining is Easy
If you think you might qualify for RIte Care, a Family Resource Counselor (FRC) (PDF 15.98 KB) can help you with the RIte Care application and tell you what you need to do to get your application processed by DHS. They can also help you if you have a problem with re-certification.
