Medicaid Plan Overview

What can UnitedHealthcare Community Plan do for me?

Who can join?

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan offers coverage to beneficiaries of Pennsylvania's Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program.

We can help you relax about your health care. You don't need to worry when you have UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. All of your health care needs are met. With UnitedHealthcare, you can count on getting good health care, plus the respect you deserve. You'll have your own personal doctor who really knows you. No more sitting around emergency rooms waiting for basic health care.

Plus, your doctor is there for you and your family around the clock. We check doctors and hospitals in our network often to make sure you're getting the care you deserve.

When the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) completed its selection process for identifying managed care organizations that would enroll Medical Assistance recipients in selected counties, UnitedHealthcare was not one of the managed care organizations selected.

As a result, as of March 1, 2013, we will no longer be able to provide services for Medical Assistance recipients who live in Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties.

Medical Assistance recipients can call Pennsylvania Enrollment Services toll free at 1-800-440-3989 (TTY 1-800-618-4225) Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in finding other options. This will NOT affect any of our CHIP or Medicare members.

This plan is available in the following counties: Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Berks, Blair, Bucks, Butler, Cambria, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Indiana, Lancaster, Lawrence, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Perry, Philadelphia, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland and York.
