Benefits & Features

Coverage Types

Individuals who qualify for CRS have complicated health needs. We can put you in touch with someone who can answer your questions and guide you. Call the number on this page to get in touch with one of our CRS program specialists.

The CRS program is divided into four different coverage types: 

  • Fully Integrated. All CRS, primary care and behavioral health services are provided by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
  • Partially Integrated – Acute. All CRS and primary care services are provided through UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.  Behavioral health services are provided by the member’s Tribal RBHA.
  • Partially Integrated- Behavioral Health. All CRS and behavioral health services are provided through UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.  Primary care services are provided through the member’s foster care or DD program.
  • CRS Only. All CRS services are provided through UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. Primary care services are provided through the member’s foster care or DD program. Behavioral health services are provided by the member’s Tribal RBHA.

 

Well and Sick Care

Get the care you need to be healthy — or to get better if injured or sick. Services will vary by the member’s coverage type and may include:

  • Well Visits. Preventive checkups, shots and needed lab tests. 
  • Medicines. Fill prescriptions at local pharmacies. 
  • Hospitalization. There are no copays for hospital care.
  • Transportation. We pay for rides to and from medical visits or the pharmacy.
  • Vision Care. Exams and lenses are provided.

 

Care for Conditions

When you or your child have special and complex health care needs, you can depend on us. Our plan makes sure you get the specialized care, support and services that are needed. Services will vary by the member’s coverage type and may include:

  • Mental Health. Counseling and other treatments are covered. 
  • Care Coordination. Personal support from an experienced professional.
  • Asthma Support. Individual care to help control asthma or COPD.

Vision, Dental and Hearing Care

We want the sight, smile, and hearing of our members to be at their best:

  • Vision. Eye exams, frames and lenses are covered.
  • Dental. We pay for cleanings, checkups and dental work.
  • Hearing. Tests, checkups and hearing aids are included.
These benefits are provided to CRS Fully Integrated and Partially Integrated-Acute members up to age 21.

Home Care and Supplies

Members recovering from a serious illness or surgery often need extra support.. Our plan includes the care and equipment needed to recover safely at home. Services will vary by the member’s coverage type and may include:

  • Personal Care. Services to aid healing after illness or injury. 
  • Equipment and Supplies. In-home medical and safety equipment are covered.

Rides and Other Help

Sometimes members need a little extra help using their health plan. For those times, they can rely on:

  • Transportation. We pay for rides to and from medical visits or the pharmacy.
  • Interpreters. Have an interpreter with you at your child’s doctor visits.
  • Language Help. Translated medical materials are available at no cost.
  • Social Services. We’ll help connect you to community services. 
  • Member Services. Your benefit questions are answered 24/7.

Services will vary by the member’s coverage type.

UnitedHealthcare Senior Care Options (HMO SNP) Plan

UnitedHealthcare SCO is a Coordinated Care plan with a Medicare contract and a contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Medicaid program. Enrollment in the plan depends on the plan’s contract renewal with Medicare. This plan is a voluntary program that is available to anyone 65 and older who qualifies for MassHealth Standard and Original Medicare. If you have MassHealth Standard, but you do not qualify for Original Medicare, you may still be eligible to enroll in our MassHealth Senior Care Option plan and receive all of your MassHealth benefits through our SCO program.

Formularies on Plan Sponsor Websites

This drug may be covered under Medicare Part B or D depending upon the circumstances. Information may need to be submitted describing the use and setting of the drug to make the determination.

UnitedHealthcare Dual Complete Plans cover both brand name drugs and generic drugs. Generic drugs have the same active-ingredient formula as a brand name drug. Generic drugs usually cost less than brand name drugs and are rated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be as safe and may be as effective as brand name drugs.
